Sealed Bids for construction of the Neuse River Wastewater Pump Station Replacement project will be received by Johnston County at the Conference Room in the Land Use Center (309 E. Market Street) in Smithfield, NC until 2PM, Thursday, August 21, 2025, and at that time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

 

A prebid meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 11am in the Conference Room at the Land Use Center (309 E. Market Street) in Smithfield, NC. A visit to the project site will be available shortly thereafter.

 

The work includes construction of a new sewage pump station near the existing sewage pump station, such that the existing station can be demolished. The proposed pump station will generally consist of the following: 1,500 gpm triplex submersible sewage pumping station (750 gpm per pump), flow meter vault, diesel generator, vapor phase odor control system, approximately 130 linear feet of 16-inch gravity sewer including trenchless construction of 56 linear feet of steel encasement across an NCDOT roadway, and approximately 655 linear feet of 12-inch and 14-inch diameter force main.

A printed copy of the Bid Documents plus electronic files may be obtained for a non-refundable fee of four hundred dollars ($400). An electronic copy of the Bid Documents in Portable Document Format can be obtained at no charge.
