Sealed Bids will be received until 1:00 PM Thursday February 08, 2024, in room 419 of the Raleigh Municipal Building at, 222 W. Hargett Street, Raleigh, NC, at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the construction of the Blue Ridge Road Widening South project. The sealed proposal public opening can also be viewed via virtual meeting in an effort to limit the size of meetings. The City strongly recommends viewing the sealed proposal public opening via the virtual meeting. In addition, it is strongly recommended that each submitting firm only send one representative if desiring to have an in-person presence. If you prefer to attend the virtual meeting please send an email to Dennis.Trujillo@raleighnc.gov that includes the name and email address of the attendee(s). Invitations to the virtual meeting will go out the day of the bid opening,

After Bids are opened, the Owner shall evaluate them in accordance with the methods and criteria set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. The Owner/City Council reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all Bids. Unless all Bids are rejected, Award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder, taking into consideration quality, performance and the time specified in the Bid Form for the performance of the Contract.

Requirements for pre-bid submittals of an “or-equal” are required within 10 days of issuance of the Advertisement for Bids and in accordance with Section 00200, Instructions to Bidders.

The Project consists generally of the following major items:

The project is located along Blue Ridge Road from Duraleigh Road to Homewood Banks Drive. The purpose of the project is to widen Blue Ridge road including erosion control, curb and gutter, storm drainage, sidewalk, asphalt paving, pavement markings, traffic control, signal work, various utility work, and other incidentals.
