Project Name: Peace Street Streetscape Improvements

Pursuant to the General Statutes of North Carolina, Section 143-128 et. seq, sealed proposals are
invited and will be received by the City of Raleigh in the office of Roadway Design/Construction
until 1:30 pm, Wednesday, September 11. 2019 at which time at a meeting in Room 419, 222 W. Hargett Street, Raleigh, N.C., the sealed proposals will be publicly opened for construction consisting of
furnishing and installing the following:

Streetscape improvements on Peace Street from St. Mary’s Street to North West Street. also
includes utility coordination. landscaping. erosion control measures. paving. curb & gutter. ramps. pavement removal & replacement. sidewalk, pavement markings, traffic control and other miscellaneous items.

Public Utility Improvements along Peace Street from West Johnson St. to North West Street including
traffic control measures and other miscellaneous items.

Signal. improvements at the intersection of Peace St. and St. Mary’s Street, Peace Street and
Boylan Avenue, and Peace Street and Glenwood Ave.

A hard copy and electronic copy of the plans and contract project specifications may be reviewed
on line and obtained from Accent Imaging from Monday, August 26, 2019, at 8121 Brownleigh
Drive, Raleigh, NC 27617, (919) 782-3332, or Hard Copies of the plans, contract documents, or electronic files can be purchased from Accent Imaging for a non-refundable fee of One Hundred Seventy Five dollars ($175.00) plus sales tax. Digital copies of the contract documents and plans and contract documents can be purchased for Eighty-Five dollars($85.00) plus sales tax. From Monday. August 26, 2019 until the date of opening the proposals, plans and specifications of
the proposed work are and will continue to be on file in the office of the Engineering Services
Department, 222 W. Hargett Street, Raleigh, North Carolina, during usual office hours, and are available to prospective bidders. No proposal will be considered or accepted unless at the time of its
filing, the same shall be accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier’s check, or certified check on a
bank or trust company insured by the FDIC and authorized to do business in North Carolina in an
amount equal to five percent (5%) of the proposal. In the alternative, a five percent (5%) bid bond issued by a corporate surety licensed by the State of North Carolina may be filed with the
proposal. Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the General Statues of North
Carolina and must comply with nondiscrimination provisions. The City is an equal opportunity
Municipality/Owner and invites small and minority contractors to bid. The City Council
reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
