2020 Bus shelter Project

General Notice
The City of New Bern (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:
City of New Bern – Bus Shelter Project
Project No.: CNB #22-018

Sealed bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the City of New Bern Public
Works Department located at 1004 S. Glenburnie Road, until September 30th, 2021 at 11:00 AM local
time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Bids may be submitted by
mail or courier.

In response to the current State of Emergency and “Stay at Home” order pursuant of Executive Order
121, dated March 27, 2020, the public bid opening shall be made available through online video
conference. Access to the online video conference shall be made available to all plan holders at
least 24 hours prior to opening of bids. Interested parties are required to contact Scott Sallade
by email at ssallade@rameykemp.com with the subject line “CNB #22-018 – Bid Opening” to request the
conference link.

The Project includes the following Work:

The work will generally consist of clearing, grading, construction of concrete sidewalk, shelter
pads, curb & gutter, asphalt pavement and associated traffic control. This project also includes
the assembly and installation of bus stop amenities such as shelters, benches, and trash cans.

Obtaining the Bidding Documents

Information and Bidding Documents for the project can be found at the following designated website:

A hard copy and electronic copy of the plans and contract specifications may be reviewed online and
obtained from the designated website. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated
website as a plan holder, even if those documents are obtained from a plan room or source other
than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be
updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information
relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other
Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer
will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other
than the designated website.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, bidders are strongly encouraged to register as a plan holder
from the aforementioned website. Physical documents will not be available for order from the
Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding
Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

Pre-bid conference attendance is not required. A virtual pre-bid conference is scheduled, through
Microsoft Teams, on September 15th, 2021 at 11:00 AM. In response to the current State of Emergency
and “Stay at Home” order pursuant of Executive Order 121, dated March 27, 2020, the pre-bid meeting
shall be made available through online video conference. Access to the online video conference
shall be made available to all interested parties at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.

the subject line “CNB # 22-018 – Pre-Bid Meeting” to request the conference link. Bidders are
encouraged to visit the project areas prior to the pre-bid meeting.
